Rituals

The Maypole Ritual at BELTANICA begins not quietly…but with a pulse.
It stirs at LightClub Curiosity Shoppe, where the Maypole rests like a sleeping relic of spring, waiting to be awakened. Then comes the call—and with it, the Green Man Parade. Adorned in leaves, laughter, and a touch of wildness, the men of the festival lift the Maypole and carry it into the world again, parading it down Main Street with a kind of joyful reverence that feels both ancient and electric. Drums may beat, voices may rise, and for a moment, the ordinary street becomes something enchanted.
As the procession reaches Lewis Park, the energy shifts from movement to gathering. The Maypole is received by the community—welcomed, grounded, and honored. Here, the ritual begins. The elements are called in—earth beneath, air above, fire within, water flowing through—and the spirit of Beltane is invited to take root among all who stand in the circle. It is a moment of connection: to the land, to each other, and to the unseen rhythm of the season turning.
And then, as all good magic does, it transforms into celebration.
The ribbons are taken up, the music swells, and the Maypole Dance begins—color weaving through color, intention threading into motion. Each step becomes a blessing. Each crossing of ribbons, a quiet spell of vitality, joy, and creation.
This is not just a ritual you watch.
It’s one you step into… and leave forever changed.
